A week at Antique Metals

The last couple of weeks have seen me doing the same thing, which is making a set of copper lanterns.

We have had a pair of candelabras with the arms broken, they where repaired by silver soldering, then the repaired areas cleaned and lacquered to match original.
Some old locks where repaired and a key made.
Some hand made brass screws where made for an old wood and brass telescope.

A week at Antique Metals

Last week saw the restoration of copper Victorian lantern, one of the sides had come detached and was bent, while the base of the lantern was a mangled mess. All the sides where removed and the steel rods running through the copper were un-soldered and replaced has they were very rusty and broken. The whole lot was soldered back together, new tags to retain glass and a handle for the door was also made.

We had a small candelabra in which had a broken drip pan which was repaired.
A pair of lighting interiors where made for 2 copper lanterns.
